A Little Note from New York
I haven’t always considered myself a fashion girly.
I love clothes. I love style. I love figuring out what feels like me.
But New York during Fashion Week? I assumed it might feel a little out of reach.
Turns out, it feels like the exact opposite.
We came for a 24-hour turn-and-burn trip — see everything, get inspired, take a million mental notes, and get back on a plane.
And my biggest takeaway?
Fashion feels incredibly wearable right now.
WHAT we're building at the soco house.
I’m seeing denim everywhere.
Simple tops. Great basics. Blazers. Feminine skirts. Kitten heels. Fun sneakers.
Animal print mixed into otherwise classic looks.
Scarves and bandanas everywhere.
Natural hair. Fresh faces. Soft makeup.
And, ladies, the ballet flats.
So. Many. Ballet flats.
Another thing I keep noticing: the pants… aren’t always pants.
I’m seeing so many longline trouser shorts and tailored Bermudas — knee-length or even a little longer, with the same beautiful cut and structure of a classic trouser, just cropped.
Some are linen. Some are silky and fluid. Some are traditional suiting.
And somehow they feel polished, comfortable and completely effortless all at once.
That really sums up what I’m seeing here.
Nothing feels overly complicated.
It’s CLASSIC with something unexpected.
TRENDY without trying too hard.
BOLD in small, intentional ways.
Which is exactly what we’ve been building at THE SOCO HOUSE.
BOLd. Classic. Trendy.
When we open this October, one of the ways we want to simplify getting dressed is through our three style profiles:
BOLD. CLASSIC. TRENDY.
They aren’t boxes you have to fit into.
They’re landmarks.
Maybe you’re Classic most days, but today you want the Bold shoe.
Maybe you try the Trendy long trouser short, but pair it with your favorite Classic top.
Maybe you mix all three.
Because style shouldn’t require knowing every trend or having some secret fashion knowledge.
It should give you a place to start.
And being here in New York has made me even more excited because so much of what I’m seeing feels exactly like what we’re building at THE SOCO HOUSE:
Approachable. Wearable. Interesting. Personal.
Fashion feels a lot less out of reach from here.
And I have a feeling a few of us may be more “fashion girly” than we realized.
We cannot wait to help you find your version of it.
And we really cannot wait to dress you.
THE SOCO HOUSE is coming this October.
See you soon!
